Kaitlyn Michaux is a scientist, painter, author, and political activist born in New York, raised and bloomed in Virgina, now returned to New York where she lives in Brooklyn.

She has a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Virginia Tech. Post-academia, she worked in vaccine research before shifting into a role as the owner and designer of a global web application developed and used within Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Kaitlyn is a successful artist known for her paintings “Strawberry Heart,” which gained significant traction on TikTok, and “Dreamscales.” She has collaborated with Richmond musicians including Nathan Pal and Big Fancy for album artwork.

Kaitlyn has a substantive activism record, beginning with her first protest in 2014 for the People’s Climate March in Manhattan. She has marched in solidarity with many movements— including BLM, Free Palestine, and No Kings — but her concentration has always been on women’s rights and its intersections with these other causes. She has worked to increase domestic violence awareness, support women’s shelters, volunteer with Planned Parenthood, and relentlessly insist upon federally protected abortion rights. She is now working toward her first publication - a compilation that centers feminine identity and calls women to always stand for themselves in defiance of patriarchy.
